There is a song by the Canadian band “Bare Naked Ladies” called “This Is Me in Grade 9.”

It’s a fun song, because most of us think back to our first year of high school as pretty cringe-worthy.

With that in mind, I decided to just rip the bandaid off, and put my high school photos out there right away on my website. This will prove I can handle the unrelenting kidding that may come from it. Or maybe not. Hopefully readers will share the concept that the ‘present day’ me is a little more refined than first year high school me.

We were able to track down some photos from my “Archer” Yearbook. I attend Applewood Heights Secondary School in Mississauga from 1967 to 1971. Mississauga is a fast growing suburb of Metropolitan Toronto. The population of Mississauga was 100,000 in 1967. According to Statistics Canada, the population in 2011 was 713,000 and it is now Canada’s 6th largest city.

Mississauga has gone through a great deal of change since my high school years, as have I. Most are for the better, and I am very grateful to have grown up in a place that provided me with such great opportunities.
